Maspalomas (Lighthouse Beach), Gran Canaria, Spain

 

The article below is a retrospective on Maspalomas, the sand dunes beach, located on the southern tip of Gran Canaria, one of the Spain's Canary Islands off the coast of Morocco.

Beside being probably one of the world's largest clothing-optional beaches (especially if you include the large sand dunes area behind it), it is also a naturally scenic desert-type chain of volcanic islands (none are active now).  It's has an arid climate with little rainfall. The sand accumulates over the centuries from what is blown to the islands from Morroco's eastern shores of the Sahara.   Some of the sand dudes are in huge drifts upwards of 30-50 meters high.

  I (Kelly) have traveled there for each March for the past five years. There are great opportunities for some casual CMNM situations, and there is hardly any place like it as far as wild outdoor and even public sex (mostly between men), but also a lot of hetero couple and partner-swapping fantasies are being lived out for real.

I also share David's (atitlan) enthusiastic memories of the Island of Gran Canaria described below. However, mine are much more recent because I have visited it every March since 2005 (except for last year).

So it was refreshing to return to the the island and its dunes this March to find it basically unchanged and just as cruisy. I also saw many cases of exactly what he describes below. There are straight (seemingly... at least) guys who go out singly or in pairs or more into the dunes away from the crowds of either clothed or nude sunbathers along the beach to take a few private naked photos. It was interesting to watch them do so - although I hesitated to take any photos of two straights taking candid nude pics of each other. Besides, there were plenty of other 'distracting' activities going on in the dunes and among the bushy stands of tree found in the low areas between them.

These are almost certainly the dunes between the resorts of Maspalomas and Playa del Ingles on the south coast of Gran Canaria in the Spanish Canary Islands off the African coast.
We have posted many Maspalomas images here previously, nowadays a big gay destination with a vibrant
nightlife and a crowded male-only nudist section on the beach.
When I visited first aged 24, the resort area was about a tenth of the size it is now and not gay at all. The 3-mile beach other than around the hotels of Playa and the lighthouse at Maspalomas was virtually deserted.

However the dunes proved to be something of a magnet for certain young men from the city of Las Palmas to the north. Not many of them, maybe half a dozen at any one time across the huge expanse of dunes, unlike the hundred and more tourists to be found among the bushes
these days. Back then I was the only tourist in the dunes. The men I would see tended to look and act like the guy in the attached photo, average age 21, dressed in shorts, speedos or nothing at all and with obvious intentions. I don't know how the image here came to be taken but
it certainly brings back happy memories!

Cap d'Agde, Nudist Mecca in Southern France

A sudden surge of interest in Cap d'Agde,  the nudist city on the south coast of France, prompts me to provide some more information about the place. Some of this has appeared previously, a year or two back.

(1) The season lasts from May to September, though there is no guarantee of warm sunshine throughout. The most crowded and most expensive period is July/August.

(2) It's a big place, with around 1,000 dwellings and a large campsite as well. It's not very French. If you want French atmosphere, stay in the nearby picturesque fishing village of Marseillan and walk to Cap d'Agde along the beach from Marseillan Plage, without having to pay the day entry fee.

(6) There are plenty of nudist travel companies that will arrange accommodation and travel for  you, though some may discourage people other than male/female couples and families. The longest- established British company is Peng Travel:

It is fairly easy, though time-consuming, to drive there from the UK and much of the rest of Europe.

Erections are increasingly acceptable in liberal nudist resorts like Cap d’Agde. Why not, it’s a natural reaction of helpless men becoming sexually aroused, harmless, nice to see and to show, a bit funny as well.

(7) Would I recommend it? Well, it's worth a  visit, if only to enjoy the curiously-liberating  experience of nude shopping in the supermarket  and walking naked along urban streets. There are good opportunities for making new friends, though I think this might prove difficult if  you go alone - you might feel rather left out among crowds of people enjoying themselves. That's the problem for me - crowds of people, lots of noise, a lack of beautiful natural surroundings. Depends what you're looking for, I suppose.

My Maiden CMNM Experience

Yesterday I had my kind of CMNM (Clothed Male Naked Male) situation.
I was in the swimming pool of my city, the sun was shining and the pool was crowded. It was a very nice day until it started to be cloudy. Many people left the pool and I decide it was the time to have a shower.

As I entered the locker room I realized I wasn’t alone since one of the showers was clearly tuned on. I put my bag on a bench and went to the showers, where I found a man cleaning himself. He was some 60 years old, a bit overweight and fully naked. The man left the shower as I started washing myself.

 When I finished, it was clear that we were the only two into the locker room. So I decided to take off my swimming trunks (even if a sign recommended to wear the swimsuit in the shower). I went to the area of the locker room where the benches are, fully naked. The other man, much older than me, was wearing a t-shirt and a pair of shorts.

I noticed he was looking at me. The locker room is very small so we were very close. I took advantage of this situation and started to find the towel inside my bag. Then I started to dry myself, exposing my body to the man as much as it was possible. I took time to dry my back and my legs, exposing my bottom and my hanging penis. It was clear that the man occasionally looked at it. Finally I put the towel over the bench, next to the other man’s bag, sat there and started to dry my hair with another small towel. He was adjusting his stuff inside his bag.

Suddenly the door slammed because of the wind, since it was just half closed. The man went to the door and closed it. Then he said to me:
-This door keeps opening… There are people naked inside here, and the door should stay closed.-
-Thank you sir.- I replied, smiling to him, since I was still naked.
He smiled back -You are welcome, boy! After all, this is the men’s locker room, our place… Others shouldn’t be able to look inside.

I smiled. Then he started to talk to me about the weather:
-It will rain soon…-
-I hope not- I replied -I have to go to a garden party tonight…-
-Let’s check- he said taking his phone -Look! it will rain, sorry, boy-
I went closer, still fully naked, to look at the screen of his smartphone.
-Oh no!- I said.
The men put a hand over my shoulder and said smiling:
-Come on boy, you are young… a bit of rain is not a problem, I think--I think you’re right, sir-

The man finished to adjust his bag:
-Have a good evening, boy!- he said leaving the locker room.
-Thank you! Good evening- I said.
As the man walked out, a guy around my age entered. I put my clothes on, showing only my rear. He took off all of his clothes and went to take a shower.
